Rentokil’s legacy Anaplan model design was carried forward from earlier legal entity and management structures, some of which still required current period reporting. The inefficient design left little room for changes or enhancements to meet Rentokil’s current planning needs and left a processing lag for model updates.
By restructuring the underlying data storage modules and centralizing currency translation calculations, Accelytics was able to reduce the size of Rentokil’s Anaplan workspace by 20%.
The enhancements also helped significantly improve the user experience. These UI improvements helped planners execute more efficiently which reduced planning cycle time by 50% for month end close processes.
For the first time in the company of over 5,000 people, Accelytics’ implementation of a workforce planning tool enabled Rentokil to gain better insight to employee related costs. Due to the way Accelytics structured Rentokil’s Anaplan models, data from acquisitions can be incorporated in an easily scalable manner.
Rentokil engaged Accelytics to reduce model size, design and install an employee-based workforce headcount tool, and provide the ability to plan employee expenses. Accelytics used their proprietary Accelerated Approach to identify gaps within Rentokil’s Anaplan models. This led to a list of model improvements that could be implemented to reduce overall model size and improve processing times.
Next, Accelytics integrated employee data from Rentokil’s HR system into the current Anaplan reporting structure. Logic was developed to apply headcount and salary employee data into Rentokil’s reporting structures. Drivers were created to calculate benefits and tax expense items based on rates experienced locally in the field. The workforce planning data was integrated into Rentokil’s management and corporate financial reporting so the new modules could scale alongside Rentokil’s active acquisition process.
